New Patient Guide

We’re pleased to announce a new publication from the Chiari & Syringomyelia & Scoliosis Foundation (CSSf), created in collaboration with our R&D and Marketing Department at the Institut Chiari de Barcelona (ICSEB). We extend our gratitude to them for their work on the new “Patient Guide: Chiari, Idiopathic Syringomyelia and Scoliosis, and Other Related Conditions: Cause, Diagnosis, and New Treatment. Filum Disease and the Neuro-Cranio-Vertebral Syndrome.”

This book is based on 50 years of research and work by Dr. Miguel B. Royo Salvador, and it’s specifically intended for patients and those who care for them.

It aims to share the theory, experience, and treatment methods of our medical team, as well as what to expect after undergoing treatment, for anyone who wants to understand the mechanisms behind Filum Disease, Neuro-Cranio-Vertebral Syndrome and all related conditions.

The first edition in Spanish is now available at our office and can be obtained with a donation to the CSSf. The digital version will soon be available online and you’ll also be able to order it remotely in both formats.

The guide explores the specialised approach of the Filum System® to the disease, covering everything from diagnosis and complementary tests to surgical treatment, rehabilitation, postoperative care and improvements in the quality of life for Dr. Royo’s patients who undergo the method.

It also explains how abnormal downward traction on the Central Nervous System, caused by an overly tense Filum Terminale ligament, affects each condition it causes or is linked to.

We hope this new publication will help spread knowledge and deepen understanding of many aspects of our research team’s findings, clarifying any questions our patients may have about the exclusive management of the condition that we offer at the Institut Chiari de Barcelona.
