After having learned to live with headaches and dizziness for more than 20 years, our Brazilian patient, Adriana da Costa Tavares had a medical consultation with a neurologist who diagnosed her with Arnold-Chiari Syndrome type I. Also in that year, she contacted the Institut Chiari & Siringomielia & Scoliosis de Barcelona for the first time.

Finally, in 2019, she came to undergo surgery with our medical team. “Amazing! After the surgery, I felt very happy. I no longer have headaches. Before, when I had to wash my hair, it was difficult for me to raise my arms and it’s not happening any more”.

Almost 40 days after surgery, Adriana came for a check-up and realized that she no longer remembered some of the symptoms she used to have, such as dizziness and headaches.

I wish all the people who have the same problem as I do, could come to Barcelona and undergo surgery. It is a very simple surgery, it only lasts 45 minutes and the next day you are able to have normal life.
