Nikoletta returned to the Institut Chiari & Siringomielia & Escoliosis de Barcelona in September 2025 for her follow-up, one year after undergoing the minimally invasive sectioning of the Filum Terminale according to the Filum System® health method.
Before the procedure, she experienced numerous symptoms that severely affected her quality of life, including intense headaches, nausea and vomiting, photophobia, sonophobia, hearing disturbances, difficulties with speech and concentration, insomnia, neck pain, upper and lower back pain. She also suffered from marked generalized weakness in her extremities. As her condition progressed, she first needed support to walk and eventually became dependent on a wheelchair.
Just a few hours after the surgery, Nikoletta was able to take her first steps without any assistance. At her one‑year follow‑up visit, we found her walking completely normally.
It fills us with joy to see her progress and to have been able to accompany her on this path to recovery.
