Olivia’s parents contacted the Institut Chiari & Siringomielia & Escoliosis de Barcelona regarding their daughter Olivia’s case. Here they summarize their experience of undertaking a trip outside of their country, the United States, for the treatment of the young patient:

“Olivia was diagnosed at eight years old with Chiari malformation. And even though she had symptoms, she was actually misdiagnosed for many years and then we got a brain decompression surgery in the states but it wasn’t as effective as we would have hoped.
