Educational cooperation agreement for external academic internships between the University of Barcelona (UB) and the Institut Chiari & Siringomielia & Escoliosis of Barcelona (ICSEB)

Our healthcare centre (ICSEB) has been an external collaborating entity of the UB Faculty of Biology since 2018, through an agreement whose purpose is to offer external academic placements to students.

Within this framework, the R&D&I Department of ICSEB hosts each academic year students or graduates from the Faculties of Biology, Biomedicine and Biotechnology, offering them the opportunity to join the research team of Dr M. B. Royo Salvador and to develop their scientific and research skills together with the Institute’s professionals.

The common project entails several purposes: educational – providing them with basic and specialised knowledge; preparatory – enabling them to become familiar with our research lines; executive – carrying out the assigned work; dissemination – participating in the communication of the results in the form of publications, conferences and/or symposiums.

On the one hand, this experience of close collaboration provides us with the creativity, competence and knowledge of young brilliant minds, who continue to contribute new ideas and tools to our R&D&I studies.

On the other hand, ICSEB offers advantages and conditions that may be of interest to university students who wish to undertake their first placements in a centre of medical excellence, beginning their professional career within a highly specialised research team.
