{"id":82476,"date":"2017-06-09T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-06-08T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.institutchiaribcn.com\/comunicacion\/samantha-meir-icsebs-versatile-contact-person\/"},"modified":"2026-01-28T10:23:24","modified_gmt":"2026-01-28T09:23:24","slug":"samantha-meir-icsebs-versatile-contact-person","status":"publish","type":"comunicacion","link":"https:\/\/institutchiaribcn.com\/en\/samantha-meir-icsebs-versatile-contact-person\/","title":{"rendered":"Samantha Meir: ICSEB\u2019s versatile contact person"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text-muted aniview centerTXT\">Published by\u00a0<a title=\"Posts by ICSEB\" href=\"https:\/\/institutchiaribcn.com\/en\/author\/anoop\/\" rel=\"author\">ICSEB<\/a>\u00a0at 9 June, 2017<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/institutchiaribcn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Sam-ICSEB-Chiari-treatment.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-rounded img-responsive text-wrap alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/institutchiaribcn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Sam-ICSEB-Chiari-treatment.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"449\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Samantha Meir has been collaborating with the Institut Chiari &amp; Siringomielia &amp; Escoliosis de Barcelona (ICSEB) since 2008, she has the ability to navigate different domains and languages in order to meet the needs of patients from different parts of the world.<\/p>\n<p>Even tough she was in charge of looking after English-speaking patients in her first years, she would later go on to take care of Spanish and French-speaking patients.<\/p>\n<p>One of the reasons for her ability to adapt is the multicultural context she grew up in. Her mother is North American and her father is of German origin. She was born in Barcelona, but raised in Ibiza, where she attended the Lyc\u00e9e Fran\u00e7ais (where she learned French) and later on she went to an English school.<\/p>\n<p>Her experience of living abroad has also helped to develop her versatility. She finished her last year of high school in the United States (Florida) and went to college for two years there to study business administration. Later, when she returned to Barcelona, she got a degree in photography.<\/p>\n<p>Photography continues to be one of Samantha\u2019s passion, but nowadays in her spare time. Her priority is spending time with her family. Whenever she can, she also enjoys other hobbies: handicrafts, cooking and travelling.<\/p>\n<p>After these years at ICSEB, Samantha continues to value the human aspect of her work. \u201cI know that I work for a good cause, helping patients who are suffering and feeling alone because nobody takes them seriously or knows what to do with their disease\u201d, she tells us.<\/p>\n<p>Her job is very gratifying for Samantha; she learns something knew almost every day, thanks to working with physicians.<\/p>\n<p>Another aspect she is fond of is being able to meet new people, new stories and experiences. \u201cWhen the patients come here for the operation, they spend at least three days and we end up establishing a special relationship of trust and understanding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Samantha explains that during the long time she is already at ICSEB, she has grown as a person, that she has become \u201cstronger and more responsible\u201d, and it makes her feel proud of her work. To finish, she would like to leave a message for the patients: \u201cI am very happy to have been able to help in everything possible so that they can have a better quality of life, which is the most important thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At ICSEB, we are also very happy with Samantha\u2019s work during all these years, due to her dedication, effort and personal
