B. Royo-Salvador and his team have confirmed that\u00a0<strong>Neuro-cranio-vertebral Syndrome (NCVS)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 the result of an abnormal traction on the Central Nervous System transmitted through a tense Filum Terminale \u2013 can lead to a\u00a0<strong>complex and sometimes unpredictable clinical picture, even for experts.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to their research on the etiology of cerebellar tonsil descent, intramedullary cavities, spinal deviations, etc., our specialists approach each patient\u2019s case understanding that their\u00a0<strong>symptoms might go beyond what is typically attributed to these conditions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Graph I shows the symptoms reported in a sample of 373 patients with FD and NCVS. Along with the most common symptoms of Arnold Chiari I ,\u00a0<strong>such as headaches, dizziness, back pain, paresthesias, fatigue, tinnitus, and dysphagia\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 and Idiopathic Syringomyelia<strong>\u00a0, including balance alterations, limb pain, gait issues, and alterations<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>in<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>thermal sensibility<\/strong>, there are other frequently occurring symptoms in significant percentages:\u00a0<strong>anxiety (53%), sphincter alterations (52%), insomnia (49%), memory deterioration (43%), attention issues (38%), depression (27%), language disorders (25%), diplopia (16%), and cramps (12%).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Among the sphincter alterations, the most common are\u00a0<strong>urinary urgency, incontinence, diarrhoea, constipation, and occasionally, faecal incontinence<\/strong>. These symptoms are usually associated with other syndromes, like tethered cord syndrome and occult tethered cord syndrome, which can cause confusion, as Filum Disease can also lead to Arnold-Chiari I, isolated idiopathic syringomyelia and idiopathic scoliosis.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/institutchiaribcn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/sin-en-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive alignnone size-full wp-image-8849\" src=\"https:\/\/institutchiaribcn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/sin-en-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"880\" height=\"433\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<strong><em>Graph I<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<strong>Extract from \u201cFilum Disease \u2013 A Guide for Patients\u201d by M. Royo Salvador, 2024, \u201cThe Diagnosis\u201d.<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n<p>Along with\u00a0<strong>diplopia<\/strong>, other visual disturbances such as\u00a0<strong>blurred vision and photophobia<\/strong>\u00a0are also common. As for hearing disorders, alongside tinnitus,\u00a0<strong>hearing loss and sonophobia<\/strong>\u00a0are also observed. Many doctors refer patients to ophthalmologists or ENT specialists, respectively, to assess these symptoms.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Neuropsychological issues typically involve cognitive functions<\/strong>, such as attention, concentration, memory (both anterograde and retrograde) and language (nominal and articulate), as well as\u00a0<strong>mood<\/strong>, including irritability, sadness and even anxiety. Only in recent years they started to take into consideration psychological symptoms in the diagnosis of Arnold-Chiari I, but there can still be diagnostic confusion within the psychological sphere.<\/p>\n<p>In reality,\u00a0<strong>these symptoms can significantly limit and affect a patient\u2019s quality of life<\/strong>, just as much as the more well-known symptoms, and are often found in those affected.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The aim of the treatment according to the Filum System\u00ae (FS\u00ae) is to halt the progression of the disease,<\/strong>\u00a0preventing further damage to the nervous system. However, in the majority of cases seen by our team, we observe significant improvements in most patients.<\/p>\n<p>In Graph II, the\u00a0<strong>results<\/strong>\u00a0are shown for another sample of 240 patients,\u00a0<strong>one year after undergoing the sectioning of the Filum Terminale\u00a0<\/strong>using the minimally invasive FS\u00ae technique.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/institutchiaribcn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/sig-en-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive alignnone size-full wp-image-8850\" src=\"https:\/\/institutchiaribcn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/sig-en-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"714\" height=\"383\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<strong><em>Graph II<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<strong>Extract from \u201cFilum Disease \u2013 A Guide for Patients\u201d by M. condition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In conclusion<\/strong>, despite the wide variety and general lack of knowledge regarding the symptoms of FD and NCVS, patients can be confident that\u00a0<strong>treatment with the Filum System\u00ae method can significantly improve their quality of
